Joyfully Missioned Come and See

March 24, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Joyfully Missioned assists pastors and parish leaders by taking the vision presented in Joy of the Gospel, principles of threshold conversion in Forming Intentional Disciples, Living as Missionary Disciples and additional evangelization and catechetical resources to provide pastors and parish leaders the ability to make disciples, create mission-oriented ministries in evangelizing churches who bear fruit and rejoice.

This will be done through an assessment and formation for parishes including three components necessary to become Joyfully Missioned parishes.

Have an intentional plan for reaching out to those who do not yet know Christ and are not actively living their faith whether they be Catholic or not. (Entry Points)

Have a defined process for assisting those who have grace beginning to work in their life and need a process of spiritual accompaniment aimed at deepening their conversion (Spiritual Conversion)

Have a way to deepening conversion for parishioners who are committed to the Church and her mission and forming them to go out and reach those who are on the peripheries and build the church. (Missionary Formation)

“An evangelizing community is filled with joy; it knows how to rejoice always. It celebrates every small victory, every step forward in the work of evangelization.” (EG, 24)

Pope Francis understands the pastoral activity of present churches and the need for renewal. The document, Joy of the Gospel, expressed how forming evangelizing churches will change the way we are presently doing ministry in parishes.

I want to emphasize that what I am trying to express here has a programmatic significance and important consequences. I hope that all communities will devote the necessary effort to advancing along the path of a pastoral and missionary conversion which cannot leave things as they presently are. “Mere administration” can no longer be enough. Throughout the world, let us be “permanently in a state of mission.”

The same training will be repeated at five separate locations in the Diocese of Raleigh
